Montgomery McCracken’s Diversity Committee presents “Women in the Military”

Please join us for the second installment of our Minorities in the Military series,
“Women In the Military,” presented by Montgomery McCracken’s Diversity Committee.
Secretary Jessica L. Wright, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs and former Adjutant General for Pennsylvania, will discuss her military experience, her achievements, and what it was like to be the first female aviator in the Army National Guard.

Secretary Jessica L. Wright was confirmed as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs on May 24, 2012. Prior to confirmation she served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs (Manpower & Personnel) and as the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. She is responsible for all matters of the Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs as they relate to the men and women of the Guard and Reserve. She serves as the key advisor to the Secretary of Defense for all Reserve Component matters and provides supervision of Department of Defense policies relating to the manning, training, equipping, and resourcing of service members assigned to the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve. Secretary Wright retired as a Major General in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Her distinguished 35 year career of military service culminated in her final assignment as Adjutant General of Pennsylvania and commander of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
