Montgomery McCracken Adds White Collar Litigator In Philly

Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP expanded its litigation services in Philadelphia with the recent addition of a white collar and defense attorney who left Saxton & Stump after more than a year to join the firm.

Terri Pawelski has been welcomed as a partner in Montgomery McCracken’s litigation department and its white collar and government investigations practice group. Pawelski told Law360 Pulse in an interview Wednesday that she was impressed by Montgomery McCracken’s litigation platform, but it was the opportunity to reunite with her former colleague Richard Simins that attracted her to the firm.

“I’ve always respected Richard as a lawyer and a friend,” Pawelski said. “If he wasn’t here, I don’t know if I would have looked at Montgomery McCracken that hard. I also thought they had a good platform, and they are expanding the white collar practice with a lot of young people.”

Moving to a firm with more young attorneys in the white collar practice has brought a lot of energy to Pawelski’s practice, she said. It helps to be around others heavily engaged in litigation, Pawelski said. She hit the ground running on her first day last week, adding her expertise to a few antitrust cases managed by her colleagues.

“They are doing a lot of antitrust over here, and they just needed some help,” Pawelski said. “I started helping out immediately to the extent I could get involved. They are making it very smooth and have been very accommodating about getting me up to speed.”
