Montgomery McCracken Hosts United States Law Firm Group Environmental Law and Litigation Committees’ Annual Meetings

PHILADELPHIA-Montgomery McCracken hosted the annual meetings of the Environmental Law and Litigation Committees of the United States Law Firm Group (USLFG) on October 17 – 18. The firm serves as USLFG’s representative covering Pennsylvania and New Jersey and partners Timothy Bergère, of the Environmental Practice Group, and Jeremy Mishkin, chair of the Litigation Department, are the firm’s representatives in the Environmental Law and Litigation Committees, respectively.
The Environmental Law Committee group members enjoyed cheesesteaks and a trolley tour of the city, along with two days of roundtable discussions on a variety of topics, including “Innovations in Practicing Environmental Law;” “Using Technology Well in the Practice” and “Legal Developments and Practice Trends.”
The Litigation Committee’s agenda consisted of several presentations by Montgomery McCracken attorneys, including “The Supreme Court Takes on Class Actions,” by partner Charles Casper; “Maritime and Transportation Law and Issues in the 21st century,” by partners John Levy, Vincent DeOrchis and Alfred Kuffler; and “From White Collar to Khaki Collar,” by partner Lathrop Nelson.
The two committees converged Thursday evening, October 17, for a historical dinner reception at Philadelphia’s Carpenter’s Hall, featuring words of wisdom from famous Philadelphian “Benjamin Franklin.”
